Los Angeles International Gemological Laboratory is an independent appraising company that identifies, appraises and evaluates jewelry, diamonds, colored gemstones and watches for both the general public and jewelry trade.
We provide jewelry appraising services for Modern, Period and Antique jewelry, wrist and pocket watches, diamonds and colored gemstones and gemological services for loose stones.
Paul Shikhvarger is the owner and chief appraiser of the LAIGL with extensive experience for Modern, Period and Antique jewelry, diamonds, colored stones and watches. He is Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) graduated from the Gemological Institute of America and Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.

My fiance and I needed my 3-diamond engagement ring appraised for insurance coverage, and I searched quite a bit for a trustworthy, qualified appraiser. Paul was incredibly amiable and professional, his office is conveniently located in Downtown's Jewelry district (I walked, but there's plenty of parking below the building or across the street at Pershing Square), and he examined my ring right in front of me. I decided to get of rid of my old diamond ring and started looking for an appraiser to get the value before i go to look for a buyer. Found Paul Shikhvarger from LAIGL through BBB and made an appointment to see him. I have found Paul to be very knowledgeable and thorough in what he does. Last week I contacted Paul Shikhvarger with Los Angeles International Gemological Laboratory with a question on an Item that I purchased over the internet. The item that I purchased was a diamond simulant and the company that I purchased from listed its properties as a very high grade item very close to a real diamonds makeup.
